Lineal Optimizing Board Edger
The lineal optimizing board edger was installed at the beginning of 2006. Past capital improvements to Devereaux Sawmill provided equipment that helped with optimum log recovery while increasing the speed of production. However, previously, all edging decisions on the actual boards were still made by a person. The edging equipment is teamed with the latest software/technology and reads each board to determine the best way to improve grade, while maximizing yield. The equipment produces a better overall manufactured board on the front end of the lumber manufacturing process.
